Buying Second-Hand Collectors Edition Games and Guides
Posted on March 12, 2017 at 8:10 pm
There are many collectors of’ ‘collectors edition’ games and game related books, especially on the internet. Collectors edition items are highly sought after, especially now as games are downloaded digitally more often and classic games become older and rarer.
When browsing for collectors items be sure to check if they are new, which means that it is still wrapped in it’s original packaging or box, or if it is opened. The difference in price between these can be huge. Sometimes items will be listed as ‘as new’ or ‘vintage’, either of which doesn’t effect it’s value nearly as much as if it were truly new.
Collectors edition guides can be worth a surprising amount of money online, sometimes even more than the actual game it’s for. The prices for game guides can vary wildly, and combined with the fact there are usually many iterations of games with very similar names, it can make getting the right guide for the right price very confusing.

What We Know About Nintendo Switch Games So Far
Posted on February 23, 2017 at 10:14 pm
With the release of Nintendo’s new home console quickly approaching, a lot of questions still remain about the actual games that the switch will play. After all its the games that make a console, so here’s what we know so far.
Nintendo Switch games will retail for $60, this puts a lot of arguments to rest about whether the switch will be actually be considered as a home console. In comparison, Nintendo 3DS games retail for around $30 – $40, a common price point for handheld games.
The cases the games are packaged in are slim and tall, but seem to be considerably smaller than standard DVD cases. This is likely because they’re designed to hold a card that houses the game, as opposed to a larger DVD or Blu ray disk.
As for actual game content, Nintendo stated that there were at least 80 third-party titles in development for the system from over 50 developers/publishers. We’ll only see a fraction of that at release, but those statements hold a lot of hope for the future content of the console.

How To Clean A Wii U Disk
Posted on December 30, 2016 at 10:41 pm
Nintendo Wii U games come on optical disks, Wii U’s own unique game medium to be exact. But like any disk they can easily pick up dirt and light scratches, hampering their ability to load games.
Fortunately the disks can be cleaned relatively easily with a few house hold items. Here are the simple steps to clean a Wii U disk, from Nintendo.
- Dampen a clean, soft, cotton cloth with water.
- Use straight strokes and wipe the disc (non-labeled side) from the inside rim to the outside rim.
- Using a dry part of the cloth, repeat step 2 to dry the disc.
- After all of the water is gone, let the disc sit for at least two minutes to completely dry before inserting it into the Wii U console.
- Do not use solvents such as: benzine, window cleaner, paint thinner, anti-static aerosol spray or abrasive cleaners to clean your disc.
- Do not use machines designed to clean discs or remove scratches. These types of devices have been known to damage the surface of the disc.
- After cleaning, be sure to store your games properly. Storing games in cases other than the ones they came in, or storing them outside their cases, may damage the disc.
